A Reference Letter for a friend is written to refer a friend, colleague or a team-mate. They are based on positive as well as personal attributes and are not related to employment benefits, but more towards babysitters, awards, roles, tutor, artist, custody, and teacher.
Example- Parents want to know exactly what past customers have to say about a babysitter, which makes your honest reference letter extremely helpful when it comes to the candidate finding more work.
Before writing a reference letter for a friend, ask your friend for information about the post they are applying for. This way, you can concentrate on the needs of the position. Try to include language from the job listing, if your friend shares the listing with you. Even if you are writing a more basic letter, you can still ask your friend about the types of jobs they are looking for. Also, briefly explain how you know the person, and for how long you have known him or her.

Dear _____(Sir or Madam),
______ (Name of the friend/babysitter) is a delightful young woman/man who has cared for our two children over the last several years. We are saddened by _______ (Name of the friend/babysitter) transfer and inability to grace our lives by helping us, but I also wanted to make sure that others could benefit from her/his good work as well.

Our children do not endlessly sit for extra hours in front of the television under her/his care. ______ (Name of the friend/babysitter) has even managed to convince our children that salads consisting of lettuce, carrot, celery, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach, and cabbage are actually “Food-rainbow” just like the colorful rainbow in the sky.
One of the aspects of ________ (Name of the friend/babysitter) personality that we’ve appreciated the most was her/his ability always to keep the children calm. Subject: Reference Letter for a friend.
Dear Mrs. Jessica Parker,
Melissa is a young woman who has cared for our two children over the last several years. We are saddened by Maggie’s transfer and inability to grace our lives by helping us, but I also wanted to make sure that others could benefit from her good work as well.
She is not your usual sitter. She understands instructions in the letter and is witty enough when it comes to screening phone calls and any unexpected visitors. Our children do not endlessly sit for extra hours in front of the television under her care. She brings books for the kids, plays board games and also makes delicious cookies for rewarding them after their good reading. This way the kids learn and are also taught discipline.
Maggie has even managed to convince our son that salads consisting of lettuce, carrot, celery, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach, and cabbage are actually “Food-rainbow” just like the colorful rainbow in the sky. Also, she ensures our kids enhance their boundaries of interests and sit quietly listening to music. Although our son Bruce is just seven years old, he enjoys singing and dancing.
One of the aspects of Maggie’s personality that we’ve appreciated the most was her ability to always keep the children calm. My husband and I have found her honest, trustworthy and diligent enough to care for our children and therefore we confidently recommend her to you as a sitter.
