An agreement letter is a formal letter written to express agreement over a certain issue that had been previously debated and discussed. Such letters are short letters that inform the recipient that there is no problem with the issue at hand from the writer’s side and that the writer won’t mind going ahead with the proceedings.
Agreement letters usually last a paragraph, two paragraphs at the most. They cannot be written longer than that as the nature of an agreement letter is only to express consent.
An agreement letter must include all the terms and conditions of the particular agreement. This letter may be used, at a later date, for legal purposes. Therefore, the letter must be accurate with regards to the information that is laid out in the agreement.
The Letter must summarize the acceptance of conditions that were previously deliberated upon and must be acceptable to parties that are about to enter into such agreement. Therefore, the key principles while writing an agreement letter are accuracy and terms of the issue being agreed upon.

- Mention any ideas or suggestions you might have with regard to issue you’ve expressed your consent upon. This will help the recipient of the letter feel sure of your wholehearted agreement.
- Now that you have expressed your agreement, also mention any foreseeable problems in the future or any new developments you might have to plan for.
- Make it clear from your side that you are ready to contribute to cooperate on with this project.

Dear Mr. Edward,
I am happy to do business with your firm of providing 500 kgs of chicken to our hotel in Denver every day. The term of the contract is initially for two years and if everything in the contract goes well then let us mutually decide to continue the contract.
We need 500 kgs of fresh chicken, properly packed to be delivered to our hotel premises before 7 am every day. The chicken should be fresh and neatly dressed. An advance payment of 50% will be paid out to you on the 5th of every new month by cash or cheque. This will go on smoothly, and if either party finds the service of the other dissatisfactory or not coming up to the expected level, then either can terminate the contract with a month’s notice.
Any disputes arising out of the agreement shall fall under the jurisdiction of Dalhousie High Court, and if you have any doubt regarding the clauses and provisions added therein, you are free to contact me. And if you agree with the terms and conditions which we have mutually decided upon and stated in the legal draft as a token of approval please sign it.
