A farewell letter is written to a colleague when he/she is leaving an office or company. It is a nice gesture to give a farewell letter to a colleague who is leaving, as he/ she will not only like and appreciate it but also treasure it. It will make them remember the time they worked with the organization or company. The letter should be in a formal tone. However, most importantly, the tone depends on the bonding and equation with the person.
The letter needs to convey a few important milestones and special memories with the recipient, which, if the person reads, will be reminded of his good experiences with the organization or company. It should also have one line of how he/ she will be missed. It needs to have a brief vote of thanks for being in the organization. It is a nice way to add a line that it was a pleasure working with him/her. The letter should end with best wishes for his/ her future endeavors.
Farewell Letter to Colleagues Writing Tips
- Be genuine in writing, as the recipient has worked with you, he/ she will know if it is not genuine.
- Be brief while writing about the special moments and milestones shared with the recipient.
- Include a brief vote of thanks in the letter.
