When a colleague or business connection has a reason to celebrate, a congratulations letter is always acknowledged, whether you have time to send a paper card or a thoughtfully written email. A congratulation note is terrific for relationship building. When someone has done great work at their workplace, it’s nice to let him know they are appreciated. These letters recognize a milestone in the receiver’s life whether it’s retiring, relocating or otherwise moving on in her professional or personal life. Congratulating someone on volunteering is a nice thing to do. It shows that the person is giving of his own time to help others.
Congratulation letters can be for a variety of situations, such as a new job, a promotion, starting a business, retiring, volunteering, accomplishments at work and more. (Here, a friend retiring from work).
If a, colleague come friend is retiring, send a note of congratulations – marking his goodbye to a longtime job and full-time work as a big upswing, and worthy of appreciation.
Tips To Write A Congratulation Letter
- Express your gratitude for the work the person has done, and wish him or her all the best during retirement.
- A letter of congratulations on retirement is also an opportunity to pass on contact details so that you can keep in touch in future. So don’t forget to give in your contact details.
- Mention the number of years the retiring employee has worked at the company.
- The retiring employee is full of excitement for this next step in life, but there may also be some hesitancy about embarking on a new phase. Give them the required confidence and motivation/support for their new venture.
