A Tenant Complaint Letter is used to express dissatisfaction at the treatment extended by the landlord to a tenant, disgruntlement on non-completion of a promised task or to complain against a troublesome situation in hand. The dissatisfaction could be due to issues like sudden notice to vacate, the steep rise in rentals, negligence towards the maintenance of facilities and amenities and so on. A tenant can write a letter to the owner who stays far and when face to face communication is not possible.
There are times when a letter can explain the situation better rather than communicating via phone because the chances are high that the person on the other end wouldn’t be much interested in accepting the complaints that have been raised. So to handle such situations, it is always better to put your concerns in a letter and send it across. If you are also facing a situation and wants to write a complaint letter, here is the sample that you can use to write the same.

Subject: House Infrastructure Problems – Reg
Dear Mr. Smith,
I have been a tenant in your accommodation for the past eight months and have been paying all rental and maintenance bills on time.
As mentioned to you many times earlier, we are facing severe problems due to seepage in the bedroom wall due to internal leakage in the pipes leading to the washroom. Since I have a baby who is barely one year old who is already suffering from bronchitis, such seepage and accumulation of fungus could aggravate her existing condition.
Our pediatrician checked on her condition and recommended that we keep her out of the damp and wet room which is not feasible since we have only one bedroom.
Since this apartment is a ten-minute drive to work for myself and my wife, I would rather stay put and undertake repairs than shift to another accommodation. I request you to kindly send a plumber to undertake the above-mentioned repair at the earliest and oblige so that we have a comfortable stay in your accommodation.
Thanking You,
Edward.

Sub: Leakage Problems in the house
Dear __________ (Name of the Owner),
I have been your tenant from the past one year, and I have never had such problem before, and I like this place very much but off late I am facing a problem where in there is a leak in the bedroom and whenever there is rain there is a major leak and the water drips directly on the bed.
You must be aware that I have a 2-month-old baby and my wife has still not completely recovered after delivery. Last week some guys came and repaired the place but still, there is a leak since its winter, and very cold the water is dripping and spreading to the entire wall which makes the room even colder.
I hope this time you get it repaired properly. This flat is very comfortable for me and is very near to my office, but if this problem persists, I will be forced to leave the house. Please help me out with this situation. I hope you will take the situation seriously.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
