A letter complimenting or praising speaker is a very commonly written letter. This is mostly written by a member of an audience during any event such as a presentation or a motivational speech etc. Every single person enjoys receiving a nice compliment, but giving a good compliment takes some work. The tone and style must be perfect, or else what you say will be taken in the wrong way. The key is to be honest and say something you mean, that too in sweet and genuine tone. The right compliment given at the right time will make someone very happy.
Complimenting a person on something obvious about him/her is really easy enough. You could compliment him/ her on the speech delivered by simply saying “great speech”, but a good compliment must point out the less obvious. Before speaking, take a moment and think on what you really liked about the speech. The statement will create a better impact if it is simple and clear. Do not say too much as too much praise will bring the authenticity of your words into question. Thus, keep in mind that a short and crisp compliment is the best.
Tips To Write A Letter Complimenting Or Praising A Speaker:
- Compliment him/her by using examples from the speech.
- Focus on their achievements and time compliments carefully.
- Compliment generously but not excessively; keep it real.
- If required introduce yourself.
- Compliment on something that isn’t obvious.
