An Easter message is mixed with sadness and joy; sadness because it is a reminder of how Christ suffered for humanity on the cross, ridiculed and beaten by those who could not accept who He is. An Easter message is also a time of great rejoicing for those who believe Jesus is the Son of God, for only He could have been buried for three days and rose from the dead. Easter speaks of the empty tomb of Jesus!
The Easter message is a message of hope that those who believe in Jesus can have eternal life; it is the message of living and loving God! The Easter message is usually given on Easter Day which usually falls in mid-April.
Although the solemn occasion has been commercialized to a great extent, with bunnies and chocolate eggs, the true meaning of Easter underpins the celebration. It is new life through Jesus, the Son of God. Perhaps all who celebrate Easter in whatever manner intend to enjoy life to its fullest.
A formal Easter message is usually found in churches that make it a point to hold a mass or celebration service with words of encouragement to their congregation with the Easter story told and retold, year after year.
It is a message of love, power and eternity. An Easter message can be sent out to members of the church or spoken out in an Easter service to share the meaning and power of Easter.

Re: Easter message
Today we are gathered here to celebrate a great day.
It is a day of remembrance; lest we forget the past and ruin our future. It is important for all of God’s children to turn our eyes from the cross to the empty tomb. That is the hope of our faith!
That is the meaning of Easter! It is the dawn of a new day, where hope is alive! Our God is alive! He is not dead! We serve a living God! Hallelujah! And we shall be with Him one day as we hold on to this hope. He made us sad for a little while with His death; but then, three days later, Jesus rose from the dead! He is not in the tomb. That should fill our hearts with joy! That is the Easter message that you and I should remember on this Easter day.
There is hope for those who are lost; peace for those who are troubled; joy for those who mourn, for your sorrow is just for a moment. There is so much to live for, and Jesus showed the way. We should all embrace this Easter joyously as we wait patiently for our bridegroom’s coming soon.
Have a Blessed Easter! Let His life fill your life this Easter.
With God’s grace and blessings,
Bishop Lionel C. Haskins
