The cover letters are best addressed to a particular person rather than just a designation. The cover letter in effect could be a summary of the documents you have included. A cover letter should highlight the key achievements without going into too many details, as the details are given in the attachments. Remember to mention the Enclosures you would be sending along with the letter.

Subject: JOB SPECIFIC COVER LETTER
Dear, Ms. Kathleen
This letter is with reference to your advertisement seen by me in Employment Today newspaper mentioning that your company has requirement for the post of Marketing Manager. Thus for the same post with your company I want to suggest myself as a candidate. I completed my MBA in Marketing in the year 2005 from Joy College of Management and in the college campus interview I got selected in ABC Group of Associates for the post of Assistant Marketing Manager. Within the period of 2 year with my capabilities and confidence shown in my work I promoted as Marketing Manager by the company. Now after completion of 3 years with the same post I am looking forward for new challenges, better prospects and growing company. I think my present job profile would be highly of your interest because it completely matches with your requirement thus with this hope I am attaching my resume herewith this letter. Kindly inform me about schedule personal interview at the earliest.
Thanking You
Yours Sincerely,
Ms. Grace J. Chandler
